Privacy Policy

CoterieShare is a private errand-sharing app for trusted circles of family and friends, made by Coterie Share LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what we do — and don't do — with it.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address, the name you choose to display, and an optional profile photo or run-buddy photo/video you provide.
• Location — your device location while you run errands, used to detect when you arrive at and leave a store so your circle can be notified. If you grant "Always" location, this detection can work with the app closed; it exists only for live errand runs. When you're near one of your own frequent stores, the app may privately suggest stopping — that suggestion is computed on your device and never shared with anyone.
• Content you create — shopping lists, requests, board notes, messages to your friends, photos of items or receipts, and amounts you record for settling up.
• Connections — who your friends and circles are inside the app.
• Contacts (optional) — if you use the invite feature and grant contact access, the app reads your contacts on your device only so you can choose people to invite. Your contact list is never uploaded, stored on our servers, or shared. Only the specific name and email/phone of a person you choose to invite is saved, so they connect to you when they join.
• Delivery address (optional) — a home or drop-off address if you choose to save one, shown only to the friends bringing you things.
• Payment handles (optional) — a Venmo username or Zelle contact if you add one, shown only to your friends and circles so they can pay you back. Payments happen entirely in those apps; we never process, hold, or see money.
• Device information — a push-notification token so the app can send you notifications.

How we use it

Only to make the app work: showing your circle when someone is on a run, delivering requests and messages, remembering what your people need, sending notifications you'd expect, and keeping your account secure. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and the app contains no ads.

Who can see what

Your information is visible only to the friends and circle members you connect with — that's the point of the app. Location is never shown as a live map or tracked for anyone; your circle only learns store-level moments you'd expect ("Jeff arrived at Costco"). Surprise gifts are hidden from their recipient until delivered.

Service providers

The app runs on trusted infrastructure that processes data on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication), Expo (app services and push delivery), Google (push delivery on Android and store-location search), and Apple (push delivery on iOS). Each receives only what's needed to provide its service.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account any time in the app (Profile → Delete account), which removes your profile and personal data from our systems. You can also email us and we'll take care of it.

Children

CoterieShare is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is protected by row-level security rules on our database, and payment information never touches our systems.
